CALLING ALL PUNKS
A final year student at Coventry University is appealing to former punk rockers to get in touch in order to assist her with a film project.
Kat Page is studying media production and part of her final year exam is to make a short film. Her chosen subject is the punk era, in fact, anything from the 1970s and 80s.
Kat said:
“I am looking for footage that anyone might have from the punk era during the 1970s and 1980s as I am creating a short film and would like to get some authentic photographs and video.”
The music scene is familiar territory for Kat. Up until a couple of weeks ago, she was station manager at the university radio station “Source Radio” but had to stand down in order to concentrate on her final exams.
She said:
“There was such a buzz in and around Coventry during the punk years and it’s that essence that I want to try and re-create in my film. Any authentic footage or stills will certainly help. I would love to hear from anyone who might have something for me to use which I will look after and return. I am also interested to hear from anyone with an interesting story to tell.”
